Spreading God's Word

SINCE1912

Pleasant View Mennonite Church started in 1912 with 25 charter members who began by meeting in their homes. Worship services were initially in German, and the preaching would last several hours, sometimes until one o'clock in the afternoon. The congregation dreamed of growing a church with the simple goal of reaching those far from Christ. With the help of people committed to fulfilling that dream, the church began. Over the next century, Pleasant View planted an additional 23 churches. Today, we continue our mission of ministering to those who do not yet know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and assisting Christ-followers in their growth through discipleship.

Our Beliefs

At our church, you will hear the word “gospel” repeatedly because it is the most important truth that we can know and experience. The gospel is not merely a message to share with non-Christians, but also with Christians as it is not something we move on from, but something we move deeper into. It is the lens through which we should view theology, ministry, and all aspects of life.

The Apostle Paul defined the word “gospel” concisely in 1st Corinthians 15:3-5 when he wrote, “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.” Simply put, the gospel is all about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection and the implications it has for us.
